Admission to a major
Being admitted to a major provides access to upper division courses and moves you one step closer to earning your degree.
At this point, you will most likely have completed introductory courses in a particular major, taken many of your common graduation requirements (the UCORE courses all students take), and met the academic standards to certify in a specific degree program. Some departments require a formal application, or the completion of specific courses, while some departments just require that you’ve completed 24 credits. If you have specific questions about being admitted to a major, talk with your advisor!
Even after this step, if you’re not loving your choice, you still have options. Come talk to us.
